The second wave of the novel Coronavirus has taken the country by storm. The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union, confirmed that the health care sector had lost some of its gallant soldiers. The latest updates show that four top specialists succumbed to Coronavirus in a record time of 24hours.\u00a0\u00a0\r\n1. Hudson Alumera\r\n\r\n\r\nOn the morning of November 14th, Hudson Alumera took his last breath at the Kenyatta National Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment for COVID-19. The doctor succumbed to his death after developing complications.\r\n\r\nAlumera lectured at the University of Nairobi dental school. He was also a consultant dental surgeon.\u00a0\r\n2. Emarah Ashraf\u00a0\r\n\r\n\r\nThe medical community lost yet one of its top plastic surgeons on Friday, November 13th. Dr. Emarah Ashraf died at Nakura hospital, where he was getting treatment.\u00a0\r\n\r\nAshraf was a plastic surgeon at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH). He was also a lecturer at the Moi University School of Medicine, where he taught master students.\u00a0\r\n3. Robert Kangwana Ayisi\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nRober Ayasi succumbed to COVID-19 on November 5th after developing complications at Mater hospital in Nairobi, where he was being treated. Ayasi was a public health specialist, a pediatrician, and a medical doctor.\r\n\r\nAyasi was the former CEC health in Nairobi county under Mike Sonko. Previously he had served as the country secretary under Kidero's governorship.Daniel Alushula\r\n\r\nDr Daniel Alushula was a senior orthopedic surgeon at the Busia County and Referral Hospital. He succumbed to COVID-19 at the Kisumu Avenue Hospital on October 30th.\u00a0\u00a0\r\n4. Vladimir Shchukin\r\n\r\n\r\nVladimir Shchukin was a laparoscopy specialist. He was also an expert in Orthopedic Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, and Colorectal Surgery. The doctor succumbed to COVID-19 on November 9th. Before his death, Vladimir Shchukin was a consultant general surgeon at The Aga Khan University Hospital and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.\u00a0\r\n5. Doreen Adisa Lugaliki\u00a0\r\n\r\n\r\nOn July 10th, Doreen succumbed to COVID-19 at the Aga Khan University Hospital, making her the first doctor to die of the virus. Doreen was also ailing from diabetes.\u00a0\r\n6. Ndambuki Mboloi\u00a0\r\nDr Ndambuki Mboloi passed away a month after Doreen Adisa. Ndambuki succumbed to COVID-19 on August 13th. He was a senior pulmonologist.
