French football giants Paris Saint Germain are on the verge of signing Real Madrid’s skipper, Sergio Ramos. According to reports, the Parisians have offered the Spaniard defender a blank cheque and are ready to provide him with whatever he wants to be one of theirs.
Reports also have it that the 34-year-old defender is interested in a new 2-year contract extension, which will see a slight increase in his wages, but Los Blancos is unwilling to change their one-year contract deal for players over the age of 30.
The Spaniard and Los Blancos captain’s contract ends in June 2021, with the French club(PSG) looking to pounce on the opportunity and sign him as a free agent or on a cheaper deal. The French champions who are said to have already made a move for the defender in their quest to win the Champions League are currently suffering from an inexperienced defense since the departure of their captain Thiago Silva.
However, Real Madrid still sees the value of Sergio Ramos and are confident that they will come to a mutual agreement regarding his stalled contract. Madrid suffered seven defeats in their last eight Champions League matches that their skipper didn’t play. Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane came out in a press conference and said, “As always, he is our captain, our leader. I have no doubt that Ramos will stay and continue to make history.”
The skipper who has 656 appearances for Los Blancos and 175 caps for his Spain International team has won multiple honors, including four Champions League, four FIFA Club World Cup, five LaLiga titles, and a FIFA World Cup for his country in 2010.
Inter Miami is also seen as a possible move for Ramos if his contract situation with Real Madrid is not sorted out soon. A move to Miami FC, will see him reunite with his former teammates, Gonzalo Higuain, who is still a player, and David Beckham, one of the football club owners.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint Germain is also linked with the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo who seems more likely to join his former club Manchester United to continue his rivalry with Lionel Messi, who is also heavily linked with a possible move to Manchester City.
