Despite Tamilrocker’s piracy site receiving a strong warning about their infringement of the law regarding leaking movies, they have still done it again with the recently released Kannada film Bharaate. The Bollywood film features Sandalwood actor Shri Muruli and Sree Leela.
The movie was unlawfully put out for free HD downloading a few hours after being released. The worst thing is that the film’s leaking saw a high decrease in the film’s income, making the matter even more severe. Folks downloaded the movie in large numbers and watched it on their laptops and mobile phones. Another movie that has been leaked in full HD online download but this time by Torrent Site is Tamilrockers: Siddharth-Catherine Tresa Starrer Aruvam.
Producers of Guild of India recently came up with a press conference directed to restrain and stop piracy. According to the press notes, any involvement of piracy by any person is punishable by a three-year jail term or a fine of not less than Rs 10 lakh or both. “Cabinet has approved the Cinematograph Act, 1952. If anyone who infringes this law will face three years jail term or a fine of Rs 10 lakh or both.” The note read.
The piracy site has overwhelmingly leaked quite many films such as JudgeMentall, X-Men Dark Phoenix, Mission Mangal, Sacred Games 2, Pakkiri, Aruvam, Saaho, Far From Home, Chhichhore, Super 30, Nerkonda Paarvai, and Kabir Singh. It is no coincidence that the same films have also suffered in the hands of torrent sites.
Delhi High Court had earlier instructed Internet Service Providers(ISPs) to restrict piracy websites like Tamilrockers, Limetorrents, Katmovies, and EZTV from infringing film producers’ rights. The court also directed the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) and the Ministry of Information and Technology to temporarily prevent piracy websites’ domain names from breaking the law by copyright of production.
Observations should be made and noted that pirated film versions leaked online make sites undergo loss that ultimately affects the whole film team. It is a crime to download unauthorized films or watch pirated versions. Piracy should be reported so that it can be dealt with accordingly.
